SINHALA LECTURERS UPUL SHANTHA SANNASGALA AND SRINATH CHATHURANGA GRANTED BAIL

Sannasgala granted bail!

Upul Shantha Sannasgala and Srinath Chathuranga, two Sinhala lecturers appearing in court in connection with the alleged printing and distribution of a book titled ‘Buddha’s Rastriyaduwa’ insulting the Buddha and Buddhism, have been ordered to be released on Rs. 50,000 bail each by the Colombo Chief Magistrate Nandana Amarasinghe today (20).

This order was issued when the duo appeared in court today (20)  based on the notice issued to appear in court on April 29th.

The Magistrate also ordered the investigating officers to submit a report to the court after conducting investigations into the incident and obtaining the advice of the Attorney General.
