Opposition wins Australian election!
Australia’s Labor party leader has claimed victory in the national election after Prime Minister Scott Morrison conceded defeat even as the votes are still being counted, ending nearly a decade of conservative government.
Labor leader Anthony Albanese is scheduled to be sworn in as the new Prime Minister.
Australia’s general election, which had 17 million eligible voters, began at 8 a.m. local time today and ended at 6 p.m.
