Shashi granted bail
Shashi Weerawansa has been granted bail by Colombo Magistrate’s Court until the appeal is considered by courts.
On May 27, the wife of former minister Wimal Weerawansa was sentenced to 2 years rigorous imprisonment and Rs 100,000 fine in relation to the forged passport case.
However, she had filed an appeal against the sentence and the Attorney General was issued a notice by yesterday (30) asking him to explain his position regarding her bail application.
