Leaders of the nine independent parties that had earlier quit the government, have handed over a series of proposals to the Prime Minister and the Minister of Justice with seven major amendments calling for them to be included in the 21st Amendment.
The proposals, bearing the signatures of the party leaders, were handed over yesterday (01).
Among the proposals, it has been included that the only ministry the President can hold is the Ministry of Defence.
It is reported that among the proposals they have given is the proposal that only the Ministry of Defense can be held by the President.
It is also proposed that if any amendment is made to a Bill in the Parliamentary Committee stage, it should be made possible to challenge the Bill in the Supreme Court within a month after being validated by the Speaker.
Proposals also include that parliamentary approval must be obtained before the government signs any bilateral or multilateral agreements with any foreign government.
