BangladeshPrime Minister Sheikh Hasina has said that Bangladesh can supply potatoes toSri Lanka in the face of the ongoing crisis in the country.
This was statedwhen Esala Ruwan Weerakoon, Secretary General of the South Asian Associationfor Regional Cooperation (SAARC) had met her at Ganababan.
She noted that in the wake of the corona epidemic and the global food crisis following the Ukraine-Russia war, Bangladesh had taken steps to grow more food.
Sheikh Hasina had also said that Bangladeshi researchers were also trying to develop a variety of saline and drought-resistant varieties of rice.
