Fuel at R Premadasa stadium : SLC issues clarification

18th June 2022 : SLC statement

Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) wishes to address speculation being circulated on social media regarding the sale of fuel from within its premises at the R.Premadasa International Cricket Stadium.

This rumor is totally baseless and untrue, as Sri Lanka Cricket in no way is engaged in storing and selling fuel to the public.

The fuel is being used for SLC team buses, official vehicles, ground maintenance machines, and power generators located at International Cricket Venues to help facilitate scheduled Day-Night matches.

Sri Lanka Cricket once again wishes to reiterate that there is no truth in the above rumor spread on social media.

Whilst being aware of the current situation in the country, Sri Lanka Cricket has taken all required measures to ensure that International and Domestic Cricket activities shall continue unhindered.
