Don’t wait in fuel queues; unsure of when fuel will arrive”

Minister of Power and Energy Kanchana Wijesekera has stated in a Twitter message that the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation has not informed about the arrival date of the next fuel tanker.

The minister said that until the crude oil shipment arrives, work at the refinery would be temporarily halted. He said this in a Twitter message.

The Minister also expressed his regret over the delay of the ship.
The minister further said in his Twitter message that until the next ship arrives and fuel is unloaded, public transport, power generation and industries will be given priority.
He noted that fuel will be distributed in limited quantities next week and urged the public not to queue at fuel stations.
