Winds to continue
The prevailing windy condition is expected to enhance further in the western and southern sea areas and in the southern half of the island due to the active Southwest Monsoon condition.
Showers will occur at times Western, Sabaragamuwa and North-Western provinces and in Kandy, Nuwara-Eliya, Galle and Matara districts. Heavy showers above 100 mm may occur at some places in Sabaragamuwa province and in Kandy, Nuwara-Eliya, Galle and Matara districts.
Showers or thundershowers may occur at several places in Uva and Eastern provinces and in Hambantota district during the afternoon or night.
Strong winds of about (50-60) kmph can be expected at times in the western slopes of the Central hills, Western and Southern provinces.
General public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
