Tusk hacked off from dying Tusker
Anuradhapura Wildlife Veterinary officer – Chandana Jayasinghe says that someone has hacked off a tusk from a dying tusker that was grievously injured after a duel with another tusker.
The injured tusker had been found collapsed with a tusk hacked off near a paddy field near the Thiththagonewa area in Kebithigollewa.
It is said that an axe has been used to hack the tusk.
Wildlife officials had been treating the tusker for 03 weeks after finding it near the Eeripini Wewa with grievous injuries.
