Korea to issue E-7 visas to Lankan workers

Korean Ambassador to Sri Lanka Santhush Woonjin Jeong promised to draw attention of the Korean government over providing ‘E7 visa facility’ for Sri Lankan workers who have worked in Korea for more than ten years and returned.E-7 visa holders can invite their spouse and children for a stable working life.

The decision was revealed during a discussion held between the Korean Ambassador to Sri Lanka, Santhush Woonjin Jeongand Labour and Foreign Employment Minister Manusha Nanayakkara at the Ministry today.

The discussion was also focused on providing more job opportunities to Sri Lankans in Korea and providing international level technical training programmes to the workforce of this country.

Accordingly, the Ambassador said that experts in the field of engineering and technology from Korea’s high tech institutions assured that necessary steps would be taken to implement training programs for young men and women who have left school and are looking for employment.
