Party Leaders to Meet Today
A special meeting of party leaders has been convened for tomorrow (11) to discuss the political future.
The parliamentary media unit stated that the meeting will be chaired by Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardene, at 2 pm.
The transition of power, after President Gotabaya Rajapaksa steps down and a new President is appointed and the establishment of a new Government are the items in the agenda.
Meanwhile, it is reported that political parties held several discussions today about the prevailing situation in the country.
The 11 parties that function independently at present held a meeting this morning, while the Samagi Jana Balawegaya parliamentarians also held a meetingtoday.
