4 arrested for loitering near SWRD Bandaranaike statue
The police have arrested 04 people for loitering near the S.W.R.D. Bandaranaike statue at Galle Face Green, violating a court order.
On July 20, the Colombo Fort Magistrate issued an order barring people from assembling around a 50-metre radius distance of the statue of late PM S.W.R.D. Bandaranaike at the Galle Face Green.
Meanwhile, a suspect was remanded yesterday (25) over charges of sharing a Facebook post showing solidarity to the ‘Aragalaya’ struggle and containing malicious statements against the police and security forces.
The suspect, a resident of the Galle Fort area, was remanded till August 08 by the Galle Magistrate Pavitra Sanjeewani Pathirana.
