FOREIGN CURRENCY INFLOW HAS DROPPED BY FIFTY PERCENT (50%)

Income from abroad has dropped by 50%!

Compared to last year, the Central Bank says that the amount of foreign remittances received from Sri Lankans abroad has decreased by 50% this year.

It is said that the total amount of remittances received from foreign workers from January to July this year is $1,889.4 million.

Also, the amount of foreign remittances received by this country in July was $279.5 million.

Accordingly, the Central Bank has stated that the amount of foreign remittances received by Sri Lanka this year has decreased by 50% compared to the same period last year.
