Dornier 228 aircraft handed over to SL
India today (15) handed over the ‘Dornier 228 Aircraft’ to the Sri Lankan Airforce in the presence of President Ranil Wickremesinghe and other dignitaries at the SLAF base in Katunayake.
The handing over coincides with India’s 75th Independence Day.
Speaking at the handover event, Indian High Commissioner to India – Mr. Gopal Baglay said, “Security of India and Sri Lanka is enhanced by mutual understanding, mutual trust and cooperation. Gifting of Dornier 228 is India’s latest contribution to this cause.
