‘LEAVE IF YOU CANNOT WORK’ PRESIDENT TELLS STATE EMPLOYEES

President says “leave if you can’t work” to state sector
President Ranil Wickremesinghe said that state sector employees who cannot work should resign.

The President aired these views while speaking to the District Development Council in Anuradhapura today (21).

He further said that his goal is to unite everyone for the sake of the country. He added that he is not asking anyone to re-join the UNP but that he is inviting all to develop the country, together.

The District Development Council was attended by UNP, SLPP and SLFP representatives and state officials.

The President went on to state that agriculture should lead the way in regional development efforts, adding that everyone needs to work hard towards a common goal. “No one can be paid for doing nothing, everyone has to work hard. Even I have to show results, otherwise I will have to leave too”.
