Pasanda discovers expired goods over 650 Mn from Sathosa
An investigation conducted by Sathosa chairman Pasanda Yapa Abeywardene has revealed that expired consumer goods worth over 650 Mn are in Sathosa stores.
Unsold good that were purchased over 3 years from various suppliers are among these, including essential items such as milk powder, flour, biscuits, soya meat and tinned food.
Suppliers have agreed to refund 13 Mn’s worth of goods, since the appointment of the new Sathosa chairman.Most goods are damaged as they have been in the stores since 2019 and not returned to suppliers when expired.
