JOHNSTON AND TWO OTHERS INDICTED FOR DEPLOYING EMPLOYEES OF SATHOSA FOR OTHER PURPOSES

Johnston and two others indicted

The Colombo High Court today (30) served indictments on three defendants including MP Johnston Fernando in relation to a case filed by the Bribery Commission over using the employees of Sathosa for political purposes in 2012 causing a financial loss to the State.

Accordingly, indictments were served on former Minister Fernando, former Sathosa Chairman Eraj Fernando and former Operations Director Mohideen Kaja Mohommed.Colombo High Court Judge Aditya Patabendige ordered to release the defendants on two personal bails of Rs.5 million each.

The defendants appeared in the court today on the notice issued by the court.
