CID launches probe into Malaysian visa scam
The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has launched a special investigation to arrest a group of smugglers who defraud the people by giving false assurance to find them employment opportunities in Malaysia on tourist visas.
The smugglers have assured to send Sri Lankans to Malaysia on a tourist visa and have claimed that the tourist permit will be later on converted into a work visa.In a statement, the police headquarters said that there is no such procedure and requested the people not to fall for such fraudsters.
The police also requested the people to verify the reliability of their employment agency before going abroad.
