Teen dies after being trapped in water filled drain
A 14-year-old schoolboy who was trapped in a drain in the Vahera area in Kurunegala has died.
Reports say that the boy had fallen into the drain when returning home from school.
Local joined hands with the authorities to move heavy machinery to site to dig open the drain that was gushing with flood waters due to the heavy rains.
The boy was a grade 9 student from Maliyadeva College, Kurunegala.However, the boy died upon admission to hospital.
