Justice Buwaneka Aluwihare to function as Acting CJ
Supreme Court Justice Buwaneka Aluwihare will function as the Acting Chief Justice from today (08) until Oct. 13.
He will function as the Acting CJ during this period as CJ Jayantha Jayasuriya is scheduled to leave for an overseas visit today and will return to the country on the 13th.The appointment has been ratified by the Parliamentary Council following recommendations by the President.
Meanwhile, the Parliamentary Council also considered the nomination of Retired Senior Deputy Inspector General of Police PJKSW Wickremesinghe for the vacant post of Member of the Office on Missing Persons. The Parliamentary Council convened under the patronage of Speaker of house Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena.
