Mobile phone confiscated from Thilini Priyamalil
Prison officers have confiscated a mobile phone that had been in the possession of the remanded Thico Group owner – Thilini Priyamali, the Prisons Spokesman – Chandana Ekanayake says.
He adds that the phone was confiscated by the Prison Emergency Response Unit, during a search carried out at the women’s section of Welikada Prison last night (Oct 09).
The Prisons Spokesperson also stated that an investigation has been initiated by the Prison Emergency Response Unit together with the Welikada Prison authorities.Thilini is currently in remand custody over charges of misappropriation of money from businessmen and VIPs.
