Probe against teacher who danced, halted
The investigation initiated against a school teacher in a school in Negombo, has been halted.
Western Province Provincial Director of Education Srilal Nonis has said that further action is not required pertaining to the conduct of the female school teacher during a Children’s Day event at the school. The incident had gone viral after clips of the dance had made rounds on social media.
Srilal Nonis said a report has been submitted following investigations conducted into the incident by the Director of the Negombo Zonal Education Office and that it was found that the female teacher had danced with a group of school children during a Children’s Day event held at the school premises as part of a teacher-student activity.
Thereby, further action is not required, he added.
