A USD 100 million Line of Credit has been extended by the Government of India to install rooftop solar panels at select institutions.

Tweeting, Minister Kanchana Wijesekara has said that rooftop solar will be used to schools, universities, educational institutes, hospitals, district and district secretariats, government buildings and religious institutes.Progress was reviewed with officials from the High Commission of India, Sustainable Energy Authority and Ceylon Electricity Board.
