Sri Lanka’s Wanindu Hasaranga failed to adjust his lengths on a bouncy Perth pitch during yesterday’s match against Australia, former Indian bowler Anil Kumble said during an interview.
Sri Lanka was defeated by Australia by 7 wickets in the ongoing T20 World Cup in Australia.
Stating that Hasaranga was bowling his usual style, Kumble pointed out that the Perth pitch provided extra bounce and Hasaranga did not adjust his style to bowl slightly differently.
Kumble added that Sri Lanka’s Maheesh Theekshana adjusted quickly, but unlike him, Wanindu Hasaranga failed to adjust his length.
Also commenting on the match, former Sri Lanka bowler Farveez Maharoof said Australia came on top in the battle between Glen Maxwell and Wanindu Hasaranga in yesterday’s match.
Farveez Maharoof said Maxwell and Wanindu Hasaranga are two of the biggest stars of their own nations and have played together in the Indian Premier League.
Stating that the two players know each other very well and the two big egos were going after each other, Maharoof said that is where the battle was, but eventually Australia came on top.
