Rumours of Chamari’s plans to resign, false!
Rumours citing that captain of the Sri Lanka women’s cricket team, Chamari Atapattu is to migrate after resigning from the country, are incorrect,.
It is said that these rumours have been fuelled by a WhatsApp message sent by Chamari to her teammates expressing her dejection, after the ICC canceled the World Cup qualifiers in Zimbabwe yesterday (27).
However, she had made no mention of leaving the Sri Lankan national team and had not informed Sri Lanka Cricket of such a thing either.
Meanwhile, six members of the SL women’s cricket team and one official are quarantined by the team doctor and although the rest of the team is preparing to return to Sri Lanka, they are still in Harare due to flight complications arisen due to the new Covid-19
