SUGAR,FLOUR WHOLESALE PRICES INCREASED

Wholesale prices of sugar & flour increased

The wholesale prices of sugar and wheat flour have been increased, the Essential Food Commodities Importers and Traders Association said.

Its Chairman Nihal Seneviratne said the wholesale price of a kilogram of sugar has been increased by Rs.25 from Rs.225 to Rs.250.He said that India’s restriction of sugar exports has resulted in increased prices.Meanwhile, the wholesale price of a kilogram of wheat flour has been increased by Rs.10 from Rs.200 to Rs.210.

The reason for this is the removal of the three-rupee tax concession imposed on wheat flour.
