LONG TERM EFFORTS IN LABOUR MOVEMENT OF 10 TRADE UNION ACTIVISTS RECOGNIZED BY PAYING TRIBUTES

State honors for 10 Trade Union activists

State tributes will be paid to 10 prominent trade union leaders in recognition of their long-term efforts in the country’s labor movement.

The event will be held on Dec. 15 at Temple Trees under the auspices of Prime Minister – Mahinda Rajapaksa. Ministers including former labor ministers – Dinesh Gunawardena and Gamini Lokuge will also attend the event, which is jointly organized by the Labour ministry, Jathika Sampatha Lottery and the Shrama Vasana Fund.

Tributes will be paid to Leslie Devendra, Dayaratne Munidasa Fernando, Suppaiya Subramaniam Ramanathan, H.A. Munidasa, Padmasiri Amarasinghe, Rengappa Marudamuttu Krishnasamy, R. Palanimuttu, Arumugam Muthusamy, T.M. Rahim Rashidin
