Showers or thundershowers will occur at times in Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, North-Western and Southern Provinces, the Meteorology Department said.

It said fairly heavy showers of about 75 mm are likely to occur in some places in Western, Sabaragamuwa and North-Western Provinces and in Kandy, Nuwara-Eliya, Galle and Matara Districts.Several spells of showers will occur in the Northern Province as well.

The Department said showers or thundershowers will occur at several places elsewhere over the country particularly during the afternoon or night.

Strong winds of about 40-45 kmph can be expected at times over western and southern coastal areas and along the western slopes of the central hills.
