PRIME MINISTER MAHINDA RAJAPAKSA IS TO CHAIR A MEETING AT TEMPLE TREES IN THE ABSENCE OF PRESIDENT

Special meeting at Temple Trees for ministers while President is overseas

A special discussion is to be held at Temple Trees at 10.00 am tomorrow (14) chaired by Prime minister – Mahinda Rajapaksa.

A statement issued by the Department of Government Information states that tomorrow’s online Cabinet briefing has been canceled after the media minister – Dullas Alahapperuma as well as co-cabinet spokesmen – ministers Ramesh Pathirana and Udaya Gammanpila have to attend a mandatory meeting at Temple Trees.

However, cabinet decisions will be issued to media in Sinhala, Tamil and English, the statement says.

The meeting takes place in a backdrop where President Gotabaya Rajapaksa has left for Singapore on a personal visit.
