Indian MEA issues statement on SL President’s visit
The Ministry of External Affairs in India has issued a statement on the official visit of Sri Lankan President Ranil Wickremesinghe to India, which will take place on July 21.
The visit is Mr. Wickremesinghe’s first visit to India since assuming the current responsibilities.
The statement also notes that President Wickremesinghe will meet the Indian President Smt. Droupadi Murmu and hold discussions with the Prime Minister and other Indian dignitaries on a range of issues of mutual interest during the visit.
Noting that Sri Lanka is an important partner in India’s Neighbourhood First Policy and Vision SAGAR, the statement also says that the “visit will reinforce the longstanding friendship between the two countries and explore avenues for enhanced connectivity and mutually beneficial cooperation across sectors.”
