State Minister condemned for using unparliamentary language

State Minister of Primary Industries Chamara Sampath Dassanayake has been condemned for using unparliamentary language while addressing the Parliament today.

State Minister Dassanayake was found using words deemed inappropriate for use in the legislature while addressing allegations over the robbery of iron in Kankesanthurai.

Describing opposition party leaders and state officials using unparliamentary language, the State Minister was chastised by other Parliamentarians for the use of such language in the presence of school students observing the session from the Parliament Gallery.

Opposition Parliamentarians also criticized Deputy Speaker Ajith Rajapakse for failing to admonish the State Minister for such actions.

Deputy Speaker Ajith Rajapakse, however, assured that the matter will be brought to the notice of the Speaker after which necessary action will be taken against the State Minister. (NewsWire)
