A man attempting to smuggle around 6.5kg of gold into the country has been arrested at the Bandaranaike International Airport in Katunayake today (16).

The gold gel, which was found in 16 capsules, has been valued at Rs 110 million.

The suspect is reported as a 32- year old male returning from Dubai.
