Two women arrested over buying twin children aged a week, for Rs. 25,000 each, have been remanded.

They were ordered to be remanded until tomorrow (Dec. 08) after being produced before the Welisara courts.

The women and the mother of the twins were arrested after police received a tipoff.

According to police, the twins were born at the Castle Street Hospital for Women.

The mother and the twins are currently at the Ragama Hospital under police protection.
