Batsman Kusal Janith Perera has been ruled out of the T20I series against Bangladesh due to an illness.

The batsman was named in the squad but did not travel with the Sri Lanka squad which left for Bangladesh today.

Kamindu Mendis is likely to take Kusal Janith’s number three position, with Charith Asalanka retaining his number five position.

Meanwhile, Niroshan Dickwella is likely to be added to the Sri Lanka squad as a replacement wicket-keeper batsman for Kusal Janith Perera.

He smashed a 50 off just 21 balls in the National Super League (NSL) game played today in Dambulla
