CEB GIVEN 900 TONS OF FUEL OUT OF FUEL STOCKS FOR 10 DAYS UNLOADED

Fuel stocks for 10 days unloaded; CEB gets 900 tons

The Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) said that 40,000 metric tons of diesel and petrol, sufficient for ten days, are being unloaded by ships since yesterday (18).

The tanker, imported by the corporation, had been stranded at sea for about a week due to a shortage of dollars.

The Governor of the Central Bank Ajith Nivard Cabraal had told the media yesterday (18) that 70 million US dollars had been released in this regard.

Another ship carrying a load of fuel is still anchored at sea, unable to unload its stocks due to the dollar shortage.
