Mangala Samaraweera’s niece joins Samagi Jana Balawegaya
Chanchala Gunawardena, the niece of late Foreign Minister Mangala Samaraweera, joined the Samagi Jana Balawegaya.
Gunawardena was one of the most experienced, senior philanthropic politicians in the country, the SJB said.
The SJB said that Gunawardena will be supporting the presidential campaign of Sajith Premadasa.
Chanchala is the first person from the Samaraweera family to enter politics after the death of Samaraweera.
Gunawardena has been appointed as the Matara district organizer of the Samagi Jana Balawegaya.
