Range Bandara sacked!
UNP leader Ranil Wickramasinghe has decided to remove Palitha Range Bandara from his post as United National Party General Secretary, with immediate effect, ‘theleader.lk’ reports, citing reliable sources.
It is said that the UNP leader’s decision follows the consideration of several serious matters raised against Range Bandara.
According to the UNP constitution, the party leader has the power to appoint or remove the party General Secretary as required, at a moment’s notice.
It is also reported that Range Bandara has not turned up for duties at the UNP headquarters – ‘Sirikotha’ in the last few days.
Accordingly, the UNP leader yesterday (Aug.28) had handed over responsibilities of the election campaign to other officials except Range Bandara.
