DOLLARS 1.9.BILLION OFFERED TO SRI LANKA BY IMF FOR NEXT THREE YEARS

IMF to provide $1.9 billion to Sri Lanka over next three years

According to the Sunday Observer, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) has agreed to provide Sri Lanka with $1.9 billion in financial assistance over the next three years.

This funding is part of the Extended Fund Facility (EFF) agreement, signed by President Ranil Wickremesinghe in his role as Minister of Finance, Economic Stabilization, and National Policies on September 1, 2022.

The agreement includes budgetary support of $700 million in 2025, $600 million in 2026, and $600 million in 2027.
