SRI LANKA POLICE HAS WARNED ON POLITICAL ADVERTISEMENTS DISPLAYED ON VEHICLES

Political ads on vehicles debarred

The Sri Lanka Police have issued a warning to vehicle owners against displaying political party campaign advertisements on their vehicles.

According to Police Media Spokesman, Deputy Inspector General Nihal Thalduwa, it is illegal to display such ads, and vehicles found with them will be stopped and the ads removed.

Thalduwa also noted that the removal of firmly attached stickers or posters could potentially damage the vehicle. He urged vehicle owners to voluntarily remove these advertisements to avoid police intervention.
