No one would talk with the President even at a funeral – Marikkar
Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) MP S. M. Marikkar has alleged that a viral video clip showing him in discussion with President Ranil Wickremesinghe was deliberately shared by the President’s close aides and the NPP in a manner to portray it as a conversation that took place in the last few days.
Clarifying the context of the video, Marikkar has said that this was a conversation that took place during a funeral in Piliyandala around 04 months ago, while briefly discussing car permits.
“I simply mentioned that he could sign approvals for such permits in his capacity as the finance minister,” Marikkar explained to the media.
Noting that it was a cheap act, Marikkar has said that no one would even exchange a word with the President even during a funeral due to this.
