Woman arrested at BIA with gold worth Rs. 10 Mn.
The Police Narcotics Bureau has arrested a female at the Bandaranaike International Airport in Katunayake who had smuggled gold jewelry amounting nearly Rs. 10 million.
The suspect, a businesswoman aged 30 hailing from Kandy area, had smuggled the gold without paying duty.
Authorities have discovered 06 gold bangles weighing 599g 404mg as well as a necklace weighing 200g 44mg in her possession.
The jewelry has been handed over to the Airport Customs for further investigations.
