Parliament dissolved
The gazette notification has been issued dissolving parliament from midnight tonight (Sep. 24).
Accordingly, General Election will take place on 14th November, and nominations will be accepted from 4th to 11th October 2024.

President signs gazette to dissolve Parliament
President Anura Kumara Dissanayake has signed the gazette notification to dissolve Parliament and sent it to the Government Printer, reports from the PMD say.
Accordingly, Parliament is to be dissolved from midnight tonight
