Chamindu and Nishan in ODi Squad
All rounder Chamindu Wickramasinghe and top order batter Nishan Madushka have been selected to the ODI Squad for the three match ODI series against West Indies which will commence tomorrow (20) at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium at 2.30pm.
Most of the players who featured in Sri Lanka’s victorious last ODI assignment against India have retained their places in this 16 member squad The seaming all-rounder Chamika Karunaratne and off-spinner Akila Dananjaya have faced the axe from the Sri Lanka ODI squad while young Chamindu Wickramasinghe and Jeffrey Vandersay brought to the side to their replacements.
Meanwhile left arm paceman Dilshan Madushanka and all rounder Janith Liyanage also among the 16 member squad while only uncapped paceman Mihammed Shiraz also in this squad with other seamer Asitha Fernando. The squad led by Charith Asalanka also has the top order batsman Pathum Nissanka ,Kusal Mendis, Sadeera Samarawickrama and Avishka Fernando while three main spinners as usual Wanindu Hasaranga, Maheesh Theekshana and Dunith Wellalage strengthen the side. Meanwhile West Indies ODI Squad led by Shai Hope and Sri Lanka squad reached to Pallekele yesterday for training sessions before first ODI on tomorrow. The second and third ODI will be held on October 23, and 26 at the same venue.
