President AKD says he rejected Ranil’s request for 16 chefs, 30 umbrellas & over 20 vehicles
President Anura Kumara Dissanayake has turned down a request from former President Ranil Wickremesinghe for a range of privileges, including 16 chefs, 163 security personnel, 30 umbrellas, and over 20 vehicles.
The President announced that, moving forward, the former President would only receive three vehicles, as stipulated by existing government regulations. He also highlighted plans to introduce new legislation to prevent former Presidents from being maintained through public funds.
