Several key appointments made in state sector
Cabinet approval has been granted to make several key appointments within the government ranks.
New appointments have been made to the Treasury, the Central Cultural Fund, the Coast Conservation Department and the National Transport Commission.
Accordingly, Prof. T.M.J. Nilan Cooray has been appointed Director General of the Central Cultural Fund while Rear Admiral Y.R. Serasinghe has been appointed as Director General of the Coast Conservation Department.
The Cabinet has approved the appointment of five new senior officials at the Treasury.
Mr. H.C.D.L. Silva has been appointed as a Deputy Secretary.
Mr. D.A.P. Abesekara has been appointed as a Deputy Secretary.
Mr. A.N. Hapugala has been appointed as the Director General of the Department of Public Finance.
Mr. N.S.M.P. Ranjith has been appointed as the Director General of the Department of Project Management and Monitoring.
Mr. J.M.S.D. Rathnayaka has been appointed as the Director General of the Department of National Planning.
The Cabinet has also approved the following appointments of the Chairman and Director Board to the National Transport Commission : Dr. Bandura Dileepa Witharana (Chairman), W. Ravi Prasasd de Mel, Dr. Namali Tharanga Sirisoma, Mr. A.I.U. Perera.
