RW calls to raise salaries for public sector
Former President Ranil Wickremesinghe has said that the Cabinet decision taken by him as Finance Minister to increase the salaries of public servants, should be implemented immediately.
He said this during a special discussion held with representatives of the State Employees Trade Unions at the New Democratic Front office at Flower Road, Colombo.
Mr. Wickremesinghe said that he had planned to give the salary increase from next January if he had won the Presidential election.
If this salary increase isn’t implemented, then the government should immediately reveal where the allocated money is, he added.
