We act on Intelligence, not hold Press Briefings – President
President Anura Kumara Dissanayake assured the public that the government has taken all necessary steps to ensure the security of citizens following recent intelligence reports.
Speaking on the matter, President Dissanayake said, “We don’t hold press conferences on intelligence information. We acted promptly and arrested a few individuals. Although it didn’t make the news, all steps had been taken to ensure everyone’s security.”
He emphasized that authorities acted immediately after receiving the intelligence two weeks ago, detaining several individuals in connection with the information. The arrests were made in efforts to prevent any potential incidents, he said.
“Our responsibility is to make sure there are no incidents, and when we received information two weeks ago, we acted on it,” President Dissanayake stated.
