Harini leads in Colombo preferential votes, setting new record r
Preferential vote results of the Colombo District in the 2024 General Election have been released with NPP candidate Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya leading the preferential votes in the district.
She has secured a total of 655,289 preferential votes, setting a new record for the most preference votes received by a candidate in Sri Lanka’s parliamentary election history.
The record was previously held by former Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa, who polled 527,364 votes in the 2020 General Election contesting from the Kurunegala District.
