SALE OF WINE ,BEER PERMITTED TO SELL IN RESTAURENTS AND GUEST HOUSES WHO PROVIDE LODGING TO TOURISTS

Latest decision on wine, beer!

The Excise Department has decided to grant legal permission to certain places where the sale of beer and wine was not allowed previously.

The Excise Department says it hopes to issue licenses to sell beer and wine to restaurants, hotels and guest houses that have registered businesses to provide food, drink and lodging for tourists.

The department said the new system would allow restaurants, hotels and guest houses to sell liquor legally and bring them within the legal framework reducing the hassle tourists as well as landlords have to face.

Further, by including those places in the legal liquor supply chain, it is possible to ensure that only legal and standard liquor is sold at these places.
