SLFP preparing to take a decision
It is reported that the organizers of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) have requested former President Maithripala Sirisena not to contest the forthcoming elections in an alliance with the Sri Lanka Podujana Pakshaya (SLPP).
They have stated this at a meeting between SLFP organizers, representatives, parliamentarians and former President Maithripala Sirisena today (05).
Accordingly, it will be presented to the party’s Central Committee and the Politburo and a policy decision will be taken, said Maithripala Sirisena.
Meanwhile, it is reported that the SLFP is to take a decision on whether to remain in the government or the decision given by the electoral organizers in the future.
